"If you could be anything, be kind." I am sure you have heard this phrase before.
What does it mean to be kind? A kind person is one who is generous, helpful and considerate of the feelings of others. Kindness is one of the fruit of the Spirit, meaning it is one of the evidences that we are believers in God and that the Holy Spirit resides on the inside of us. He is the one who enables us to be kind, to show kindness in a crazy world where a lot of negativity is being thrown at us.
I don’t know what legacy you want to live behind but I want to be remembered as a kind person. I want all those who come into contact with me, old and young, friend and foe, stranger and acquaintance to feel that they were treated with kindness. Proverbs 11:16a says, "A kindhearted woman gains honor…" I want to be that kindhearted woman and I try to do so at each chance that I get.
To be generous…
To be helpful…
To be considerate towards others…
I don’t know what you want to be known for, how you want to be remembered when you are long gone but I pray you will be intentional to live by this godly character that is honoring to God and beneficial to those around you.
